Children ages 12 to 15 years old are now eligible to get the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advisory committee endorsed the shot for adolescents.
7News Health Reporter Victoria Sanchez spoke with Kaiser Permanente’s Dr. Christina Brown and Dr. Adrienne Collier. The pediatricians based in Baltimore and Largo, respectively, are mothers themselves.
"I tell parents that they have to trust science. It's their job to make the best decision they feel is right for their children and their family but my job is to provide the evidence and to educate them on the vaccine, what it means and how this will protect our communities and help us to heal," said Dr. Collier.
